Neo-GUILT

From Caduceus Database

The refined versions of GUILT. Neo-GUILT is created by Acropolis Pharmaceuticals through illegal GUILT research. Neo-GUILT is an inactive form of GUILT used to enhance human performance. When stimulated, it becomes deadly. It appears to be like steroids, because of Annie Fisher's injection of a strain of Neo-GUILT by her coach to improve her. Convulsions occur twice in each Neo-GUILT operation, one when the strain emerges, and another when the strain is defeated. Acropolis Pharmaceuticals and the Hands of Asclepius make a serum to mask their illegal GUILT research.

[edit] Types of Neo-GUILT

There are four archetypes of Neo-GUILT: Nous, Bythos, Sige, and Aletheia. Emilio Juarez was the first person to contract the Nous strain of GUILT during a liver transplant. There is also an unknown strain that creates aneurysms in the brain, but is possible that Nous is this strain because it is a learning agent.

[edit] Uses for Neo-GUILT

The strains of Neo-GUILT are used to enhance human performance. Nous, however, has no explained use, and is first contracted by Emilio Juarez in a routine liver transplant. Bythos is first contracted by tennis player Annie Fisher, after her personal trainer injects it to enhance her bodily functions, motor skills, and improve her game. It is suspected that Bythos is also administered to doctors of the Hands of Asclepius to build their strength. Patrick Mercer activates the dormant Bythos he cultivated in his wife, Tracy Mercer's, body to try to wake her from a coma. Sige is administered to HOA doctors to enhance the movement of signals throughout their nervous system to allow for the activation of an artificial Healing Touch (in addition to implanting of information used to trigger the Healing Touch.) Aletheia's the main effect in it's dormant state is the reverseal of the aging process. It is used by Reina Mayuzumi, explaining her youthful appearance. When stimulated in Patrick Mercer's final attempt to save his wife, it causes the Aletheia to react violently and cause severe atrophy, causing Mayuzumi to age dramatically and almost fatally.

[edit] Trivia

  • As noted above, it appears to be like steroids.
  • The convulsions are most likely due to the adaptation of the body which "degrades" from the "enhanced" state it used to be in.
